Unlimited Fleet is a new space MMO inspired by Evening, Homeworld, and Bitcoin

Developer Pixelmatic has discharged a trailer for upcoming sci-fi MMO Unbounded Fade, scored by longtime Hollywood composer Vince Dicola. Infinite Fleet is honestly a little of an unexhausted one. Information technology has development pedigree, is difficult enough to be entry the MMO space with a retro gum anime artistic creation style—and information technology's all built on crypto.

The developer's been rather modest about what just differentiates Immortal Fleet from its most obvious inspirations much as EVE. Players put to work cobalt-operatively with their fleets to oppose an AI alien threat, "going their bequest in the game's lore via its unusual directed narration feature," and on that point's also "open combat" which is presumptively some sort of equivalent to EVE's nullsec PvP zones. The press release cites Homeworld and EVE A super inspirations, before dropping the bomb close to how it is "integrating a crypto asset to exponent its in-game equal-to-peer economy."

Yay. Players earn a cryptocurrency called INF by acting which, arsenic with EVE's PLEX system, is of restricted furnish and, dissimilar the PLEX system, is built on "a secondary layer of the Bitcoin blockchain" called the Liquid Network. The secret plan's lin example is in essence built on the Leslie Townes Hope that it will get wide-ranging decent for a secondary market to develop around this, as has been the case to some extent with PLEX. This will give players "true ownership of the plus" (except, of line, the chances of anyone outside of Unlimited Fleet ever absent that plus are unlikely).

The game itself looks alright. DiCola's soaring score certainly helps, the battles seem to be an interesting mix of realtime firing and wider strategy. I ass see this scratching a Homeworld itch for players who miss that plot's glorious large vistas. But these games are notoriously hard to sell in a trailer, given their nature as life-swallowing hobbies: Only when it's in the hands will players get a sense for whether Infinite Fleet has the strategic and structural deepness to command attention.

If you want more detail on what Countless Blow over is going for, or to start buying $40 spaceships for a game that isn't out yet (wonder where they got that idea), here's the game's homepage.

Plainly EVE isn't the only competitor Infinite Fleet has: Should you be inclined to spaff money up the wall on space opera promises, Leading Citizen is still along the way. Elite grows more eye-popping with all update, piece No Man's Sky has evolved into the last-ditch cosmic chillout. Judgement past this trailer Infinite Fleet has its work cut out: Essential space is a more cut-throat battleground than any Hollywood motion picture could imagine.
