How To Remove Shut Off Valve From Copper Pipe

I use compression shutoffs. No soldering. But slip them on the copper pipe, and snug up with a wrench.
Compression on the left, and iron pipe threads on the correct.

Questions: what kind of shut off valve were the onetime ones? did y'all cut them off (and shorten the tube doing so?).
The trouble with compression valves is that you may not have plenty tube out.

everything is real corroded. The former compression close off's are all the same on as of right at present but I volition actually have to sand everything off to clean upward the paint and green and rust. I had to scrape just to run across any metallic. I didn't know if I could get the Ferrell off or if I would have to cutting it off. These shutoffs are the improve valves.

Over again..........I would use a sleeve puller, pull the back nut off, supercede the esctucheon and install a new compression shutoff. We're talking a $25.00 tool and no damage to the wall.
Or yous tin can take a torch and play effectually with burning the wall lath.
I don't see a drain in the correct location though. Similar mentioned above, y'all may desire to open the wall and rearrange things in the wall.

That is a solvent weld p-trap.
You may be able to dissever information technology off the pipe coming from the wall.

Endeavor using a hacksaw and first, cut the 90 off, leaving the hub on the pipe in the wall. And then, utilise the blade to cut nearly through what's left in several places parallel with the piping with peradventure a one/ii-1" between the two cuts. Stick something similar a screwdriver blade in the saw kerf, and see if you can dissever the section of plumbing equipment off. If that works, y'all can make more small sections, then split them off. Try not to cut into the pipage.
If you demand to move the trap for the new sink, merely open upward the wall and don't worry about trying to save the stub.
If splitting it off doesn't work, they make special tools to ream the pipe out of the hub that is likely in the wall (RamBit is ane make). Then, y'all'd only glue a new stub in the cleaned out hub, and go on from there. You may want to use a Desanko (tubular piping adapter) on the stub, and use tubular from there - it would make taking information technology off once more elementary.

I finally got everything replaced later on working effectually an ice tempest and no ability for virtually 2 days. I took a little communication from everyone'southward tips, I really appreciate this forum. I was able to cutting the traps and put in a solvent plumbing fixtures that was threaded on the other end and then put in a p-trap kit. Anybody was happy with information technology, particularly after I painted the walls around information technology. Once again, I appreciate everyone's help, thank you Terry for the great forum!!

Quondam leaking stops
Information technology takes 2 wrenches to remove the stops. And muscle.
Once you have pulled the backing nuts and sleeves you lot tin install the new eschutcheons.
The homeowner already had three mult-turn stops, I added a 4th that was 1/4 turn. I put that on the hot side for the kitchen faucet, every bit the hot side takes the beating.
